Wish (Wisher) came up in the mid-to-late 1980s, around 13 years old, just as Hip Hop landed in London. Watching serious burners go up across the city felt like living history in real time. He started young, bombing his neighbourhood and steadily getting up until his name was known. Bombing was addictive — funny and dangerous in equal measure — and he lived that lifestyle for a few years before stepping away in 1990 with the British Transport Police on his trail. He made his comeback in the 2000s, this time diving deep into piecing. These days he’s drawn to traditional graffiti — 1970s subway style: stock caps, a wonky character, and a heavy dose of funk. Still having fun, still causing crime (allegedly).
