Fábio Panone Lopes, also known as Studio FLOP, is a Brazilian architect, muralist, and visual artist born in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, in 1985. Celebrate 25 years of professional experience, he has built an internationally recognized career through large-scale murals, paintings, and artistic interventions that bring together architecture, graffiti, design, and contemporary art. He is also a producer and artistic curator through the creation of the R’evolução Festival – CTGK, the largest independent Hip Hop festival in Southern Brazil. FLOP’s distinctive visual language is characterized by bold black lines and vibrant colors, drawing inspiration from Pop Art, Art Nouveau, and urban culture. His work explores the relationship between art, space, identity, and nature, transforming public and private environments into immersive and meaningful artistic experiences.
Throughout his career, FLOP has created murals and participated in major international art festivals and projects across the America, Europe and Asia, (United States, Germany, France, Spain, England, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Colombia, Chile, China, and Thailand), as well as throughout Brazil. His work has been presented at internationally renowned events including Meeting of Styles, Art Basel Miami, Big Walls Big Dreams, Wynwood and Hive during Miami Art Week. FLOP has also collaborated with leading international and Brazilian brands and his artwork has been featured in corporate environments, architectural exhibitions, theaters, hotels, public institutions, schools, and other cultural spaces.
In 2023, FLOP became one of the first Brazilian graffiti artists to undertake an artistic residency with the Yawanawá Indigenous community in the Amazon Rainforest. The experience resulted in the documentary film Voice and Energy – Yawanawá People, further connecting his artistic practice with Indigenous knowledge, cultural exchange, and environmental consciousness. Today, FLOP continues to develop murals, fine art, and cultural projects that bridge urban art, architecture, ancestral knowledge, and environmental awareness. Through his work, he seeks to create art that not only transforms spaces, but also encourages dialogue, connection, and reflection—reinforcing his position as one of Brazil’s prominent contemporary muralists.
